Promoting health: innovations for bioactive plant-based foods

Under the leadership of Steinbeis Europa Zentrum, around 20 partners from industry, research and marketing joined forces in August 2010 to promote the topic of "bioactivity and health" primarily in Baden-Württemberg. They founded a network that promotes the production and promotion of bioactive plant products (foods / dietary supplements) with proven additional health benefits. The project was initially funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). After the initial funding period, the network was continued from September 2013 to 2018 via membership fees and coordinated by Steinbeis Europa Zentrum.

Goals of the network were, among others, more transparency for the consumer through clear communication and marketing strategies, networking of research and medium-sized industry, quality standard development, production of bioactive herbal food and dietary supplements and the development of the umbrella brand 'powerverde', as well as its marketing platform www.powerverde.de.

Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum coordinates the project and is responsible for the coordination and network management the communication activities.
