17th World Congress on Public Health (WCPH2023)

The World Congress on Public Health (WCPH) is held every two or three years by the World Federation of Public Health Associations (WFPHA). This time the Congress is organized by WFPHA together with the Association of Schools of Public Health (ASPHER) and the Italian Society of Hygiene, Preventive Medicine and Public Health (SItI) and it will take place in Rome from 2 to 6 May 2023. Parallel to the World Congress on Public Health (WCPH), there will be also the conference of the Italian Society of Hygiene (SItI). The 2nd of May 2023 there will only be the opening of SItI followed by the opening of WCPH the next day, the 3rd of May 2023. Over 3000 delegates are expected for the entire event. The theme of the congress, A World in Turmoil: Opportunities to focus on the Public’s Health, obviously formed the basis in developing the scientific program, focusing on the challenges and setting increasingly ambitious goals for the future of Public Health. The themes of the Plenary sessions are:

• Digital health, health information, and Artificial Intelligence
• COVID-19: lessons learned and how to prevent the next pandemic
• Mental health and social wellbeing
• Vaccine preventable diseases and Vaccine confidence
• Skills and capacity for health improvement: growing the global public health workforce
• Conflicts and public health: prevention, responses, recovery, rehabilitation, reconciliation
