INTERREG project Made in Danube
Enhancing SME competitiveness and collaboration activities in the field of bio-economy in the Danube Region
The development of new products and innovative services by companies, especially SMEs, requires access to scientific and applied research knowledge combined with innovation expertise. The collaboration between research organisations (RTO) and companies is crucial.
The aim of the project Made in Danube was to improve the conditions for this collaboration by developing open innovation tools which match the needs of companies with the expertise of research organisations. Three existing regional initiatives have been integrated:
- Smart and innovative precision farming (Nitra, Slovakia)
- Competence Center in Wood Sector (Vukovar, Croatia)
- Biofuel (Novi Sad, Serbia)
The project not only contributed to the competitiveness of SMEs in the South-Eastern Danube region but also generated significant change for the entire region by supporting regional Smart Specialisation Strategies (S3).
The project was co-funded by European Union funds (ERDF, IPA), encompasses 15 partners and 3 Associated Strategic Partners and was coordinated by Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum.
Four handbooks have been published:
- Training Handbook - Technology Transfer
- Training Handbook - Transnational Partnership
- Training Handbook - Social Innovation
- Training Handbook - Innovation Management
