MilestonesThe History of Steinbeis Europa Zentrum

  • Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, Minister of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism, re-appoints Dr. Petra Püchner as Commissioner for Europe.

    In September 2021, Steinbeis 2i GmbH, Steinbeis IDEA Europe (Institute of the Commissioner for Europe) and Steinbeis EU FOR YOU join their forces under the umbrella brand Steinbeis Europa Zentrum.

  • Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, Minister of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism, appoints Dr. Petra Püchner as her new Commissioner for Europe.

  • In October 2016, Steinbeis 2i GmbH is founded by Dr. Petra Püchner and Dr. Jonathan Loeffler as a daughter of Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum der Steinbeis Innovation gGmbH. Steinbeis 2i focusses on innovation and internationalization activities.

    In 2015 Steinbeis Europa Zentrum is 25 years old.

  • Steinbeis Europa Zentrum receives the Steinbeis Prize of Transfer together with Steinbeis-Transferzentrum Angewandte Akustik, Fraunhofer-Institut für Bauphysik IBP and Werkstätte für Orgelbau Mühleisen GmbH from Leonberg for their successful research cooperation in the development of organs. In the same year it receives the prize of the Enterprise Europe Network for its service “Innovation Audit”.

  • 2009: Steinbeis Europa Zentrum supports the Ministry of Economic Affairs Baden-Württemberg with consultancy services for the EU programme INTERREG IVB with a focus on Central Europe, Alpine Space and Northwest Europe.

    2008: Steinbeis Europa Zentrum becomes a partner in the Enterprise Europe Network, funded by the European Commission.

  • 2006: The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Technology re-appoints  Steinbeis Europa Zentrum as national contact points for SMEs in Baden-Württemberg. In autumn, Steinbeis Europa Zentrum receives the official nomination as EU Information Centre for universities in Baden-Württemberg on behalf of the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts Baden-Württemberg.

    2005: Steinbeis Europa Zentrum is celebrating 10 years of Innovation Relay Centre Network and its 15th anniversary with an international conference “Innovation through cooperation” in close cooperation with BMBF.

  • 2002: Prof. Norbert Höptner becomes Third Commissioner for Europe.

    2000: A second office in Karlsruhe is established.

  • 1995: The Value Relay Centre network transforms into Innovation Relay Centres. Steinbeis Europa Zentrum becomes Leader of Innovation Relay Centres Stuttgart - Nürnberg - Erfurt, funded by the EU.

  • 1993: Steinbeis Europa Zentrum is commissioned to become a Value Relay Centre by the EU. It is one of four Centres in Germany.

    1990: Steinbeis Europa Zentrum was founded as the operational unit of Prof. Hans J. Tümmers, the First Commissioner for Europe. The office started with two employees.
