European project ISOPTT

Increasing the SMEs Own Potential for Transnational Technology Transfer

ISOPTT was a European funded project. It focused on supporting micro and small enterprises (up to 50 employees) that do not primarily carry out their own research and therefore benefit from technologies and innovative products created by others. These companies were offered guidance in building up transnational cooperations.

During the project, information on the opportunities and benefits offered by cooperating with European partners were disseminated and workshops tailoured to the needs of SMEs were carried out regionally.

In a series of workshops in Stuttgart, Karlsruhe and Freudenstadt, SEZ trained in both 2007 and 2008 a total of 165 companies on the following topics:

  • Using and offering technologies from Europe and protecting intellectual property
  • Strengthening the company by working in networks and clusters
  • Market and technology watch in Europe
  • European markets - Internationalization
  • Financing of Innovation and Research
  • Technology watch in Europe

The workshops were organised in cooperation with IHK Karlsruhe, Wirtschaftsförderung Karlsruhe, IHK Nordschwarzwald, WFG Nordschwarzwald GmbH, IHK Region Stuttgart, der Wirtschaftsförderung Region Stuttgart GmbH und Handwerk International. In parallel, a mentoring was conducted at the company.

Partners in other countries (Greece, Italy, Sweden, Bulgaria and the UK) hosted similar workshops in their regions (in the local language).

Project duration: 06/2006 - 05/2008
