European project SUCCESS

Searching Unprecedented Cooperations on Climate and Energy to ensure Sustainability

The project SUCCESS was made up of 18 project partners and 28 associated partners from science, formation and business.

Within the knowledge triangle of education, research and innovation the pilot project SUCCESS intended to establish efficient and effective structures of collaboration in large distributed consortia in Europe featuring new governance schemes thereby maximising the efficient use of available resources and an increase in turning R&D results into commercial opportunities. The field of sustainable energy and climate change was the underlying subject.

SUCCESS was coordinated by the University of Karlsruhe and was one of four pilot projects being funded by the European Commission in the context of the foundation of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).The strategic objective of these pilot projects was to design, implement and test new models of cooperation between industry, research and formation. The final goal was to facilitate knowledge-sharing and technology transfer by building up the capacity of European networks in strategic interdisciplinary fields to bring their collaboration to a new, more integrated form of partnership. SUCCESS supported networks that are able to develop innovative concepts and approaches in the areas of energy and climate. Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum supported the dissemination and exploitation of the project results.
