European project STOP4Business
International cooperations in the area of sustainable construction
STOP4Business was a European project that supported cooperations between companies and research institutions in the area of sustainable construction.
The project aimed to assist companies in accessing new markets, in agreeing on technology or development cooperations and thus aimed to set in motion growth processes or preserve existing jobs in Europe.
Project activities focused primarily on brokerage events of selected trade fairs in Turkey, France and the Czech Republic, and an industry conference in Austria.
The focus of the project was on sustainable construction, one of the six lead markets defined by the European Commission as part of the so-called Lead Market Initiative. The entire construction sector has an annual turnover of 1305 billion Euros and a workforce of 13.2 million employees, and is thus one of the most important markets in Europe.
Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum as partner in an international consortium coordinated by Handwerk International Baden-Württemberg supported companies and research institutions in the search for suitable cooperation partners in Europe, and helped contacting them.
Project duration: 08/2009 - 07/2011
