German-French partnering for AI in Industry 4.0
Intensify cooperation and promote exchange for Artificial Intelligence in Industry 4.0
In the context of digitalisation, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Industry 4.0 have gained in importance worldwide and thus also in Baden-Württemberg in recent years. This is reflected in the many successful projects and initiatives.
In addition to a variety of AI initiatives, there are also offers related to Industry 4.0 in Baden-Württemberg that support small and medium-sized enterprises in the implementation of the digital transformation. Similar initiatives and projects are also taking place in France. What is still lacking, however, is the cross-border exchange between German and French initiatives and companies, although both countries would benefit from close cooperation.
Together with French innovation drivers from different regions, the project consortium analyses technological and economic priorities, connects companies and research institutions in both countries in working groups and topic-specific workshops, and provides support services for AI start-ups. This gives French start-ups the opportunity to participate in events in Baden-Württemberg and thus to open the German market. The project lays the foundation for the development of a german-French AI ecosystem enables networking and constant exchange between actors from science, business, and politics as well as intermediaries.
The project is funded by the Ministerium für Wirtschaft, Arbeit und Wohnungsbau Baden-Württemberg. The consortium, managed by the DIZ | Digital Innovation Centre, consists of organisations experienced in network management and technology transfer, namely Allianz Industrie 4.0 Baden-Württemberg, Baden-Württemberg international, CyberForum e.V., FZI Forschungszentrum Informatik, and Steinbeis 2i.
Steinbeis 2i GmbH assumes responsibilities in the areas cross-border networking and marketing of the potential of knowledge and technology transfer. Here S2i especially is responsible for the networking with innovation partners in Germany and France as well as for the organisation of matchmaking events.
Project duration: 12/2020-12/2021
