Clean Hydrogen Partnership Call for Proposal 2026

The Clean Hydrogen Partnership—together with Hydrogen Europe and Hydrogen Europe Research—will publish its annual Horizon Europe Call for Proposals in mid-January, followed by an Information Day in Brussels (exact date to be confirmed). This event will provide guidance on participation rules and introduce the topics selected for the 2026 annual work programme.

As in past edition, the 2026 call, with expected budget around €100 million, aims to support technological advances that can reduce costs at each step, strengthen European value chains, and facilitate large-scale deployment. The call typically covers topics structured into four pillars:

  • Hydrogen production
  • Hydrogen distribution and storage
  • Hydrogen end uses
  • Horizontal activities, including safety, education, skills, supply chain development, and Hydrogen Valleys

Funding will be available for Research and Innovation Actions (RIAs) supporting early-stage R&D and increasing technology readiness levels (TRLs) up to TRL 4–5, as well as Innovation Actions (IAs) for larger-scale demonstration in real operating conditions, targeting TRL 6–8. In addition, Coordination and Support Actions (CSAs) may be included to address cross-cutting issues requiring strong collaboration among stakeholders.
