European project 200SMEchallenge
Design-driven Open Innovation Challenge for 200 SMEs
Public innovation agencies strive at keeping the pace of SME innovation demand and traditional grant-based models remain the main source to fund research and innovation. However, public innovation agencies seek opportunities to implement supporting schemes pivoted on new approaches.
200SMEchallange project is funded by the EU program Horizon 2020 and will allow 7 European innovation agencies to carry out a design-driven open innovation challenge as a new innovation support scheme. The effectiveness of this innovation challenge is validated by a Randomized Control Trial research study. By doing so, the project will deliver sound evidence of impact of the experimental initiative and validate it as a new SME innovation policy tool.
As a project partner, Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum will organise and carry out a so-called UX Challenge in which 8 companies from Baden-Wurttemberg can participate. Furthermore, SEZ leads all project activities related to dissemination and exploitation of the project results.
The UX Challenge is a two-day event centred around the user experience of digital products. Student teams will work with UX experts in order to improve the user experience of digital products and services of SMEs in Baden-Wurttemberg.
