European project TANOCOMP – e-learning training on nanotechnology for the plastic industry
TANOCOMP will aim at facilitating the technology transfer process in the field of nanocomposites in European countries. The competence of the Greek partner Glonatech S.A. on the functionalisation of Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs) and their incorporation in polymer and plastic materials will be employed for the education and training of stakeholders in the plastic fields (mainly packaging, automotive, agriculture and aeronautics) in Germany, Cyprus, Spain and Greece.
Through the development of e-learning modules the training on the TANOCOMP processing method will be transferred to stakeholders as well as scientists and key personnel of SMEs in the partner countries. Beyond that the project intends to raise awareness on the benefits of the technology itself as well as its relevant application areas by organising dissemination workshops in Germany and Cyprus. TANOCOMP trainings will create competitive advantages for participants such as improved performance and lower production costs.
The project is funded by the European Commission, DG Education and Culture and is coordinated by Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum. SEZ is responsible for the project management, the development of e-learning modules, their technical validation via piloting seminars in Greece and Spain and the implementation of workshops in Germany and Cyprus to validate their content. In 2012, after a market analysis a network of stakeholders from Baden-Wuerttemberg, for whom the training in the field of nanotechnologies could be of advantage, will be created.
Project Duration: 10/2011 – 09/2012
Countries: Cyprus, Germany, Greece, Spain
