Launch of the European Directory for Women and Technology

The European Centre for Women and Technology (ECWT) started in 2008 is a European multi- stakeholder partnership representing high-level expertise in women and technology development from government, business, academia and the non-profit sector functioning as the key European knowledge hub and enabler for getting more girls and women into the knowledge based economy. The ECWT leads also the global collaboration between Ten Regional Centres under start-up around the world, which together constitute Global Women and Technology (GWT), an initiative of the International Taskforce
for Women and ICTs (ITF), recognized by UN GAID as a Community of Expertise.
The European partnership led by the Norwegian regional innovation centre Papirbredden Innovasjon functioning as the Secretariat of the ECWT is the co-ordinator of the team setting up the European Directory for Women and ICT that will be launched by Madame Vivian Reding, Commissioner for Information Society and Media the 8th of October 2009 in Brussels in the workshop 'More women, better jobs and boosting growth'.
The ECWT hereby cordially invites you to celebrate the launch of the directory at the evening of the official start-up. Come and join us and get to know representatives of the multi-stakeholder partnership of the ECWT, who are committed to bring about the change necessary to measurably and significantly increase the number of girls and women in the knowledge based economy in Europe!
