Integrating IT-entreprises in European technology platforms – European project EPISTEP

EPISTEP is an innovative project supported by the EU "Research and Innovation" strand of the 6th Framework Programme to enhance SME participation in IST European Technology Platforms (ETP) in the Sixth and Seventh Framework Programme.

Innovative players in the fields of Mobile Communications, Embedded Systems and Nano-electronics will benefit from being involved in the EPISTEP Project by joining the Database.
By providing a user friendly web-based interface, the Database is making small organisations more visible to a broad public in Europe and offers the registered SMEs with an easy and effective tool to:

  • work together with the major providers in Europe,
  • find new commercial partners,
  • obtain information about funding opportunities from the European Commission,
  • learn how to get involved in the European Technological Platforms.

EPISTEP will introduce SMEs to corporations like Nokia, Siemens, Alcatel, Ericsson, STMicroelectronics, Philips, Bosch, Thomson, Finmeccanica, Infineon, to name just a few.
The registration process is easy and the confidentiality regarding your contact data, and the R&D activities your company is carrying out, is guaranteed.

In order to improve the quality of services provided to the SME community, the EPISTEP Project recently set up a Helpdesk.
SMEs can contact the Helpdesk via email and ask questions regarding a variety of topics:

  • European Technology Platforms – what they are, how they work, how to get involved
  • Funding opportunities under the European Technology Platforms, Calls for proposals
  • Proposal writing, partner search
  • Proposal evalution and negotiation
  • Contract preparation, Consortium agreement
  • Project Management
