European Business and Technology Centre – Promoting European business and research in India
16 project partners are collaborating within the „European Business and Technology Centre” (EBTC), coordinated by EUROCHAMBRES in Brussels. The Centre supports research and business relations between Europe and India with focus on the Environmental sector, Energy, Transport and Biotechnology.
With a growing market of more than 1 billion people and a growth rate of between 8 and 10%, India is one of the fastest growing economies in the world. In 2023, India is expected to be the world’s third largest economy.
Today, India is already an important trade partner for the EU: European goods and products account for 20% of the Indian market share. With its market of more than one billion of potential consumers, businesses and research cooperations between Europe and India are still expendable. Yet, there are still substantial barriers to a market entry, especially for small and mediums sized enterprises (SME). This is where the centre will be active: the EBTC is to become the reference point for promoting European business and research in India. EU companies will be able to contact the EBTC to receive information and support for their activities in that country. An office in Delhi acts as local contact point.
Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum is involved in the setup and the services of the EBTC. The Centre can profit from its extensive experience in technology transfer and its involvement in the Enterprise Europe Network.
