SEZ-activities in the field of regional strategies and innovation

With the objective to provide public and private actors with know-how and capability needed to develop coherent, tailored and sustainable strategies, SEZ supports and is involved in a number of activities in the field of SPI and policy development. These include participation in various EU- and non-EU funded projects, European, national and regional events as well as Europe-wide networks for exchange of experience and mutual learning among SPI-practitioners.

In the framework of these activities, SEZ

• links the regional and EU level and has profound knowledge of organisations, key players and processes both at EU and regional levels;
• fosters regional and business innovation through the integration of tailored prospective and strategic elements (economic and policy intelligence);
• promotes SMEs’ and universities’ involvement in European RTD projects and transnational technology transfer, and sets up European initiatives linking regional key players.
